| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
| 3 | learn of the death of Donald Albert Waters, who passed away on | ||||||
| 4 | May 27, 2014; and
| ||||||
| 5 | WHEREAS, Donald Waters was born on August 18, 1928 in | ||||||
| 6 | Alton; his parents were Albert and Marie (nee Boercker) Waters; | ||||||
| 7 | he married Phyllis Taulli on April 25, 1953; and
| ||||||
| 8 | WHEREAS, Donald Waters graduated from Marquette High | ||||||
| 9 | School in 1946; he subsequently attended Drake University; and
| ||||||
| 10 | WHEREAS, Donald Waters served his country as a member of | ||||||
| 11 | the United States Army and was stationed in Japan from 1946 to | ||||||
| 12 | 1948; and
| ||||||
| 13 | WHEREAS, Donald Waters was employed as a Maintenance | ||||||
| 14 | Supervisor for Shell Oil Company for 35 years until his | ||||||
| 15 | retirement in December of 1986; and
| ||||||
| 16 | WHEREAS, Donald Waters was a member of Saints Peter and | ||||||
| 17 | Paul Catholic Church in Alton, where he was active in the St. | ||||||
| 18 | Vincent DePaul Society and served as an usher and lector; he | ||||||
| 19 | was also a long-time member of St. Patrick's Church in Alton | ||||||
| 20 | until its closure, where he was active in Scouting, bingo, and | ||||||

| 1 | the church's annual turkey dinners; he also served as an usher | ||||||
| 2 | and lector; and
| ||||||
| 3 | WHEREAS, Donald Waters attended the White House Retreat in | ||||||
| 4 | St. Louis, Missouri for over 10 years; and
| ||||||
| 5 | WHEREAS, Donald Waters was preceded in death by his parents | ||||||
| 6 | and a sister, Joyce Rolando; and
| ||||||
| 7 | WHEREAS, Donald Waters is survived by his wife, Phyllis | ||||||
| 8 | Waters; 3 daughters and 3 sons-in-law, Donna and Bob Aszman, | ||||||
| 9 | Sharon and Tom Hettel, and Laura and Tim Powers; 4 sons and 2 | ||||||
| 10 | daughters-in-law, David Waters, Thomas and Charli Waters, | ||||||
| 11 | Michael and Susan Waters, and Robert Waters; 14 grandchildren, | ||||||
| 12 | Matt, Julie, Danielle, Rebecca, Jordan, Karley, John, Jake, | ||||||
| 13 | Tim, Sara, Chris, Angie, Emily, and Rachel; 4 | ||||||
| 14 | great-grandchildren, Avery, Ella, William, and Carson; 2 | ||||||
| 15 | sisters, Dolores Weaver and Mary Sue Winkler; and a brother, | ||||||
| 16 | Gerald Waters; therefore, be it
| ||||||
| 17 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL | ||||||
| 18 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his | ||||||
| 19 | family and friends, mourn the passing of Donald Albert Waters; | ||||||
| 20 | and be it further
| ||||||
| 21 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
