| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
| 3 | learn of the death of Daniel John Koby of Woodstock, who passed | ||||||
| 4 | away on December 10, 2017; and
| ||||||
| 5 | WHEREAS, Dan Koby was born in Chicago to Stephen and Stella | ||||||
| 6 | (Iwaniec) Kobylinski on June 8, 1944; he graduated from | ||||||
| 7 | Carthage College in 1967, where he was president of his class | ||||||
| 8 | and also the Beta Phi Epsilon fraternity; he proudly served in | ||||||
| 9 | Vietnam with the United States Army and earned two Purple | ||||||
| 10 | Hearts plus the silver Medal of Honor; and
| ||||||
| 11 | WHEREAS, Dan Koby worked as a sales executive for the CBS | ||||||
| 12 | television network for 27 years; and
| ||||||
| 13 | WHEREAS, During retirement, Dan Koby enjoyed fly fishing | ||||||
| 14 | with the Anglers Club and his daughters and hunting with his | ||||||
| 15 | German Short-haired Pointers; he also enjoyed entertaining and | ||||||
| 16 | cooking delicious dinners for his family and the neighborhood; | ||||||
| 17 | he was a tremendous storyteller and always knew how to lift the | ||||||
| 18 | spirits of others and how to make people laugh; and
| ||||||
| 19 | WHEREAS, Dan Koby was preceded in death by his parents; and | ||||||
| 20 | his siblings, Roberta and Stephen; and
| ||||||

| 1 | WHEREAS, Dan Koby is survived by his wife, Pam; his | ||||||
| 2 | daughters, Danielle (Daniel) Rucci and Stephanie Koby; his | ||||||
| 3 | grandson, Maximilian; his nieces and nephews, Dana (John) | ||||||
| 4 | Doran, Laura (Buddy) Koby-Zuckerman, Linda Kolby, Michael | ||||||
| 5 | (Kathy), David, Justin (Holly), and Spencer (Kat); and his many | ||||||
| 6 | great-nieces and great-nephews; therefore, be it
| ||||||
| 7 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL | ||||||
| 8 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
| 9 | Daniel John Koby and extend our sincere condolences to his | ||||||
| 10 | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | ||||||
| 11 | further
| ||||||
| 12 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
| 13 | presented to the family of Dan Koby as an expression of our | ||||||
| 14 | deepest sympathy.
