2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
3 | learn of the death of William "Bill" H. Allen, who passed away | ||||||
4 | on April 22, 2014; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Bill Allen was born in 1942 at the Great Lakes | ||||||
6 | Naval Base to Harry and Alice (nee Spellman) Allen; he | ||||||
7 | graduated from Waukegan High School in 1960; he married Judi | ||||||
8 | Lampinen (nee Postich); and
| ||||||
9 | WHEREAS, Bill Allen worked as a printer for Abbott Labs for | ||||||
10 | nearly 4 decades, retiring in 2000 after 36 years of service; | ||||||
11 | and
| ||||||
12 | WHEREAS, Bill Allen belonged to the Pushbutton's Social | ||||||
13 | Club, worked part-time, and hung-out at Ray Riedel's tavern, | ||||||
14 | and later the Bears' Den; he enjoyed golf, pool, poker, and | ||||||
15 | gambling; and

16 | WHEREAS, Bill Allen and his wife loved taking mini-trips | ||||||
17 | "up north", casinos, Door County, dinner out, and dancing; they | ||||||
18 | settled in a retirement community in Delavan, Wisconsin in | ||||||
19 | 2002; and

1 | WHEREAS, Bill Allen is survived by his wife, Judi; his 4 | ||||||
2 | children, Dawn (Mike) McGuire, Kelly Thompson, Billy (Erin) | ||||||
3 | Allen, and Lisa Allen; 2 step-daughters, Melissa (Laurent) Yen | ||||||
4 | and Robyn Sims; 14 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; | ||||||
5 | sisters, Sue (Lee) Sykes and LoAl (Don) Cielinski; brother, | ||||||
6 | Ron; and many nieces and nephews; therefore, be it
| ||||||
7 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL | ||||||
8 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
9 | William "Bill" H. Allen, and extend our sincere condolences to | ||||||
10 | his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | ||||||
11 | further
| ||||||
12 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
13 | presented to the family of Bill Allen as an expression of our | ||||||
14 | deepest sympathy.
