2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
3 | learn of the death of Victor Mercy of East Moline, who passed | ||||||
4 | away on November 5, 2017; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Victor Mercy was born in East Moline to Andrew and | ||||||
6 | Clara Rollins Mercy on March 20, 1921; he married Betty Terry | ||||||
7 | in Kahoka, Missouri on April 11, 1942; and
| ||||||
8 | WHEREAS, Victor Mercy served in the United States Army | ||||||
9 | 101st Airborne Division during World War II; he retired from | ||||||
10 | John Deere Experimental; and
| ||||||
11 | WHEREAS, Victor Mercy enjoyed woodworking; he had a great | ||||||
12 | sense of humor and was always ready to help his friends and | ||||||
13 | neighbors; he was a loving and devoted husband; and
| ||||||
14 | WHEREAS, Victor Mercy was preceded in death by his wife, | ||||||
15 | Betty; his son, Terry; his four brothers; and two sister; and
| ||||||
16 | WHEREAS, Victor Mercy is survived by his son, Timothy | ||||||
17 | (MaryEllyn) Mercy; his six grandchildren; his | ||||||
18 | great-grandchildren; and his sister, Helen Deopere; therefore, | ||||||
19 | be it

1 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL | ||||||
2 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
3 | Victor Mercy and extend our sincere condolences to his family, | ||||||
4 | friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further
| ||||||
5 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
6 | presented to the family of Victor Mercy as an expression of our | ||||||
7 | deepest sympathy.
