1 | SENATE RESOLUTION
| ||||||
2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened | ||||||
3 | to learn of the death of Earl L. Hansen of Moline, who passed | ||||||
4 | away on June 29, 2022 at the age of 100; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Earl Hansen was born in Ringsted, Iowa to John | ||||||
6 | and Sena Hansen on July 20, 1921; he worked at Eagle Signal | ||||||
7 | before joining the U.S. Army, where he served over three years | ||||||
8 | in the South Pacific and received a Bronze Star for his | ||||||
9 | service; he married Mary Lynn in Moline on July 10, 1942; and
| ||||||
10 | WHEREAS, Earl Hansen returned to Eagle Signal after his | ||||||
11 | service; he also worked as a machine operator and inspector at | ||||||
12 | John Deere, retiring in 1979 after 30 years; and
| ||||||
13 | WHEREAS, Earl Hansen was a member of First Lutheran Church | ||||||
14 | in Moline and the UAW 865 in East Moline and a social member of | ||||||
15 | the Vikings Club; he enjoyed working on cars and being with his | ||||||
16 | family; he was avid NASCAR fan and loved traveling to watch the | ||||||
17 | Daytona races; he also enjoyed spending his winters in | ||||||
18 | Florida; and

19 | WHEREAS, Earl Hansen was preceded in death by his wife, | ||||||
20 | Mary Lynn; his parents; his brother, Harold; and his sister, | ||||||
21 | Gladys McCloud; and

1 | WHEREAS, Earl Hansen is survived by his sons, Roy (Helen), | ||||||
2 | Lloyd (Cathe), and Chris (Colleen) Hansen; seven | ||||||
3 | grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and one | ||||||
4 | great-great-grandchild; therefore, be it
| ||||||
5 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL | ||||||
6 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
7 | Earl L. Hansen and extend our sincere condolences to his | ||||||
8 | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | ||||||
9 | further

10 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
11 | presented to the family of Earl Hansen as an expression of our | ||||||
12 | deepest sympathy.
