| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
| 3 | learn of the death of Deputy Dwight Maness of McHenry, who | ||||||
| 4 | passed away on September 14, 2015; and
| ||||||
| 5 | WHEREAS, Deputy Maness was born and raised in Chicago and | ||||||
| 6 | had been a resident of McHenry County for the last 7 years; and
| ||||||
| 7 | WHEREAS, Deputy Maness was a 20-year United States Army | ||||||
| 8 | Veteran, serving with the 101st Airborne Division; he was | ||||||
| 9 | deployed to Desert Storm and finished his career as an Airborne | ||||||
| 10 | Ranger Instructor with the 75th Ranger Regiment; and
| ||||||
| 11 | WHEREAS, Deputy Maness served with the McHenry County | ||||||
| 12 | Sheriff's Department for the last 7 years and 11 months; and
| ||||||
| 13 | WHEREAS, Deputy Maness is survived by his wife of nearly 3 | ||||||
| 14 | years, Susan; his son, Nicholas; his stepchildren, Lauren | ||||||
| 15 | (Opryszek) and Joshua (Opryszek); his parents, Dwight E. and | ||||||
| 16 | Katherine; his stepmother, Pamela; his sister, Deena; his | ||||||
| 17 | brothers, Christopher, Joshua, and William; and his nieces, | ||||||
| 18 | Sydney, Kayla, Hannah, Katie (Gaffney), and Megan (Gaffney); | ||||||
