2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened | ||||||
3 | to learn of the death of Patricia Ann "Pat" Yoder of | ||||||
4 | Bloomington, who passed away on May 13, 2022; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Pat Yoder was born to Thurman G. and Cora Fleck | ||||||
6 | Hartman in Mishawaka, Indiana on March 17, 1931; she earned | ||||||
7 | her degree in Elementary Education from Illinois Wesleyan | ||||||
8 | University in 1953, where she was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma | ||||||
9 | Sorority; she married John W. Yoder in Bloomington on December | ||||||
10 | 27, 1954, and he preceded her in death on March 27, 2016; and
| ||||||
11 | WHEREAS, Pat Yonder taught second grade at Jefferson | ||||||
12 | School in Bloomington for two years before leaving to start | ||||||
13 | her family; and
| ||||||
14 | WHEREAS, Pat Yonder was a member and past president of the | ||||||
15 | A.W. Chapter of P.E.O.; she was also a member of the | ||||||
16 | Bloomington-Normal Symphony Orchestra Guild and held various | ||||||
17 | positions in support of the symphony; and
| ||||||
18 | WHEREAS, Pat Yonder was a fun, creative mother and a great | ||||||
19 | cook known for her ribs and German potato salad; alongside her | ||||||
20 | husband John, she was an Illinois Wesleyan University fan who | ||||||
21 | could often be found cheering in the stands during basketball |

1 | games; she loved entertaining, from hosting luncheons for her | ||||||
2 | bridge groups to huge family gatherings at Thanksgiving; she | ||||||
3 | greatly enjoyed spending time at her and John's second home in | ||||||
4 | Cambria, California, where they enjoyed hiking, taking in the | ||||||
5 | scenic views of the Pacific, and seeing friends; and
| ||||||
6 | WHEREAS, Pat Yoder was preceded in death by her husband of | ||||||
7 | 62 years, John; her parents; her infant brother, Donald | ||||||
8 | Hartman; and her stepsister, Ann Fall; and
| ||||||
9 | WHEREAS, Pat Yoder is survived by her children, John W. | ||||||
10 | (Carol) Yoder, Susan E. (Kent) Riddle, Honorable William A. | ||||||
11 | (Dr. Kathy) Yoder, Thomas L. (Sally) Yoder, and Soon-Ik | ||||||
12 | (Soo-Mi) Lee; her grandchildren, John Eric (Dr. Mikayla) | ||||||
13 | Yoder, Kristin (Jacob) Terranova, Kelly (Jeff) Guillory, Scott | ||||||
14 | (Elizabeth) Riddle, Jonathan (Gina) Riddle, Katie (Alejandra | ||||||
15 | Castro Martinez) Riddle, Stephanie Yoder, Lauren Yoder, | ||||||
16 | Captain Thomas (Dr. Bastiana Rodebaugh) Yoder, Timothy Yoder, | ||||||
17 | Sang-Bin Lee, and Sang-Jun Lee; and her seven | ||||||
18 | great-grandchildren; therefore, be it

19 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL | ||||||
20 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of

21 | Patricia Ann "Pat" Yonder and extend our sincere
condolences | ||||||
22 | to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved
