1 | SENATE RESOLUTION
| ||||||
2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
3 | learn of the death of William R. "Billy D." DeVore of Gurnee, | ||||||
4 | who passed away on July 15, 2015; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Billy DeVore was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota on | ||||||
6 | October 31, 1941; his family moved to the north side of Chicago | ||||||
7 | in 1949; he attended Senn High School, where he was a great | ||||||
8 | basketball player and an excellent high jumper; and
| ||||||
9 | WHEREAS, Billy DeVore worked for Sterns Store for Men for | ||||||
10 | over 40 years, becoming the sole owner in 1983; he loved his | ||||||
11 | family, his customers, and his friends and truly made an | ||||||
12 | impression on all of those who crossed his path; and
| ||||||
13 | WHEREAS, Billy DeVore was an avid fan of the Chicago Bears, | ||||||
14 | Bulls, Hawks, and Cubs; he loved to travel and eat at great | ||||||
15 | restaurants; he loved Hawaii and was fortunate to visit the | ||||||
16 | islands on many occasions; and

17 | WHEREAS, Billy DeVore was preceded in death by his parents, | ||||||
18 | David DeVore and Maxine (nee Just) DeVore; and
| ||||||
19 | WHEREAS, Billy DeVore is survived by his 2 sons, Brian and | ||||||
20 | Keith DeVore, and their wives, Chelsie and Valerie; his |

1 | grandchild, Jack; his spouse, Nancy DeVore; and his 2 brothers, | ||||||
2 | Robert and Jim DeVore; therefore, be it
| ||||||
3 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL | ||||||
4 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
5 | William R. "Billy D." DeVore, and extend our sincere | ||||||
6 | condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved | ||||||
7 | him; and be it further
| ||||||
8 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
9 | presented to the family of Billy DeVore as an expression of our | ||||||
10 | deepest sympathy.
