| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened | ||||||
| 3 | to learn of the death of Leonard A. Freeman of Havana on June | ||||||
| 4 | 6, 2024; and
| ||||||
| 5 | WHEREAS, Leonard Freeman was born to William and Arnell | ||||||
| 6 | (Newsome) Freeman in Batesville, Arkansas on December 17, | ||||||
| 7 | 1947; he joined the U.S. Army in 1967, serving for nine years; | ||||||
| 8 | and
| ||||||
| 9 | WHEREAS, Leonard Freeman worked for Fornoff Fertilizer for | ||||||
| 10 | 10 years, and he also worked for Walker Forge; he retired from | ||||||
| 11 | Hinkles & McCoy in Decatur; and
| ||||||
| 12 | WHEREAS, Leonard Freeman was a member of VFW Post #6408 in | ||||||
| 13 | Havana and Local 51 IBEW in Springfield; and
| ||||||
| 14 | WHEREAS, Leonard Freeman enjoyed hunting and fishing; and
| ||||||
| 15 | WHEREAS, Leonard Freeman was an amazing father and | ||||||
| 16 | grandfather; and
| ||||||
| 17 | WHEREAS, Leonard Freeman was preceded in death by his | ||||||
| 18 | parents and his sister, Sue Richardson; and
| ||||||

| 1 | WHEREAS, Leonard Freeman is survived by his longtime | ||||||
| 2 | girlfriend, Nadine Owens; his daughter, Dawn (Jeremy) | ||||||
| 3 | Showalter; his stepson, Mike (Lisa) Belanger; his | ||||||
| 4 | grandchildren, Kelsey Mibbs, Levi Mibbs, Jaclyn Mibbs, Jalee | ||||||
| 5 | Anderson, Hannah Belanger, Kourtney Showalter, and Kylee | ||||||
| 6 | Showalter; his great-grandchildren, Payton Smith and Karter | ||||||
| 7 | Showalter; his siblings, Patricia (Aaron) Wilcoxen, Donna | ||||||
| 8 | (Lee) DeBolt, and Jim (Vivian) Freeman; and several nieces and | ||||||
| 9 | nephews; therefore, be it
