| ||||||
2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
3 | learn of the death of William "Mike" Higgins of Alton, who | ||||||
4 | passed away on October 30, 2017; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Mike Higgins was born in Hannibal to William L. | ||||||
6 | and Vivian I. (Mayes) Higgins on October 5, 1948; he married | ||||||
7 | Brenda S. Davidson at Alton Lutheran Church on October 10, 1970 | ||||||
8 | and served in the United States Army Reserve; and
| ||||||
9 | WHEREAS, Mike Higgins was an operator and foreman for Shell | ||||||
10 | Oil Co. in Wood River for 27 years, retiring in 2005; and
| ||||||
11 | WHEREAS, Mike Higgins was ordained as a minister in 1977 | ||||||
12 | and was an elder at Bethel Pentecostal in Rosewood Heights; he | ||||||
13 | enjoyed fishing, golf, preaching, and spending time with family | ||||||
14 | and friends, especially his grandchildren; and

15 | WHEREAS, Mike Higgins was preceded in death by his parents; | ||||||
16 | and
| ||||||
17 | WHEREAS, Mike Higgins is survived by his wife, Brenda; his | ||||||
18 | children, Debra Martin, Jeremy Higgins, and Sean (Amber) | ||||||
19 | Higgins; his grandchildren, Kara (Garrett) Deck, Cheyann | ||||||
20 | Higgins, and Liam Higgins; and his sister, Cindy (David) |

2 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL | ||||||
3 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
4 | William "Mike" Higgins, and extend our sincere condolences to | ||||||
5 | his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | ||||||
6 | further

7 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
8 | presented to the family of William Higgins as an expression of | ||||||
9 | our deepest sympathy.
