SENATE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of James A. "Jim" Silversmet Sr. of Moline,
4who passed away on February 12, 2020; and
5 WHEREAS, Jim Silversmet Sr. was born in Moline to Albert
6and Marilynne (Remery) Silversmet on December 15, 1951; he
7served in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War; he married
8Judy Duyvejonck in Moline on March 26, 1977; and
9 WHEREAS, Jim Silversmet Sr. worked at John Deere Davenport
10Works for 25 years; he retired in 2014; and
11 WHEREAS, Jim Silversmet Sr. was a member of the VFW Velie
12Post and the Friend Circle Club, both located in Moline; he
13enjoyed bowling, camping, and NASCAR; most of all, he loved his
14time with his family; and
15 WHEREAS, Jim Silversmet Sr. is survived by his children,
16Jamie (Rhonda) Silversmet and Beth Ann (Mark) Cummings; his
17grandchildren, Alissa, Anna, Kirsten, Kaitlin, Ronnie, Alyssa,
18and Olivia; his great-grandchildren, Kaden, Alexander, Julian,
19and Jaxson; his sisters, Sharon (Craig) Schultz and Deb
20Polchow; and his brother, Ricky (Mona) Silversmet; therefore,

1 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL
2ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
3James A. "Jim" Silversmet Sr. and extend our sincere
4condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved
5him; and be it further
6 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
7presented to the family of Jim Silversmet Sr. as an expression
8of our deepest sympathy.
