| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
| 3 | learn of the death of Leon C. Zelvis of McHenry, who passed | ||||||
| 4 | away on March 8, 2014; and
| ||||||
| 5 | WHEREAS, Leon Zelvis was born on October 1, 1951 in | ||||||
| 6 | Chicago; his parents were Leon and Aldona Zelvis; and
| ||||||
| 7 | WHEREAS, Leon Zelvis graduated from McHenry Community High | ||||||
| 8 | School in 1969, where he actively competed on the tennis team; | ||||||
| 9 | he continued his education at Northern Illinois University, | ||||||
| 10 | where he graduated in 1974 with a major in political science; | ||||||
| 11 | and
| ||||||
| 12 | WHEREAS, Leon Zelvis was an avid sports fan of Chicago | ||||||
| 13 | teams and cheered for the White Sox, Blackhawks, and the Bulls; | ||||||
| 14 | he actively competed in steel and electronic darts; he competed | ||||||
| 15 | in many dart leagues and won many tournaments and trophies; and
| ||||||
| 16 | WHEREAS, Leon Zelvis was preceded in death by his father, | ||||||
| 17 | Leon Zelvis; his sisters, Anita Zelvis Davy and Christine | ||||||
| 18 | Zelvis; and his niece, Krystyne Szamlewski; and
| ||||||
| 19 | WHEREAS, Leon Zelvis is survived by his mother, Aldona; his | ||||||
| 20 | sisters, Cheryl (Raymond) Bolek, Denise (Jon) Ringer, Sue | ||||||

| 1 | Kopystynsky, Marilyn (Richard) Szamlewski, and Aldonna Zelvis; | ||||||
| 2 | his nieces, Cecile (Jason) Taylor, Jilaine (Brian) Berquist, | ||||||
