SENATE RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
learn of the death of Kathleen "Katie" Cecilia Williams of
Alton, who passed away on March 17, 2014; and
WHEREAS, Kathleen Williams was born on April 16, 1932 in
Carlinville; her parents were Rodney K. and Catherine C. (nee
Matthews) Stalcup; she married Harry E. Williams on December
31, 1953 in Brighton; and
WHEREAS, Kathleen Williams graduated from Marquette
Catholic High School in 1950; and
WHEREAS, Kathleen Williams was a life-long member of Saints
Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Alton, where she was a member
of the Altar Society and active with the choir; and
WHEREAS, Kathleen Williams was preceded in death by her
parents; her brothers, Larry, James, Richard, and Jack Stalcup;
and her sister, Faye Collins; and
WHEREAS, Kathleen Williams was the loving mother of Sean
(Barbara), Matthew (Cathy), Robert, Brian, Mary Ann,
Christopher (Michelle), Peter (Becky), Harry (Katie), and
Patrick Williams; the cherished grandmother of Christina,

Nickolas, Pamela, Sarah, Virginia, Megan, Courtney, Brandon,
Emily, Kathryn, Owen, Abigail, Sean, Rory, Brian, Cecilia, and
Parker Jane; and the great-grandmother of William, Gabrielle,
Olivia, Ellie, and William "Liam"; therefore, be it
RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL
ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with her
family and friends, mourn the passing of Kathleen "Katie"
Cecilia Williams; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
presented to the family of Kathleen Williams as an expression
of our sympathy.
