2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
3 | learn of the death of Patricia C. "Pat" Pradel of Naperville, | ||||||
4 | who passed away on August 29, 2015; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Pat Pradel was born in Chicago on May 7, 1940; she | ||||||
6 | married A. George Pradel, the former Mayor of Napervile | ||||||
7 | (1995-2015) and current Mayor Emeritus on August 20, 1960; she | ||||||
8 | grew up in Des Plaines and Brookfield and graduated from Lyons | ||||||
9 | Township High School in 1958, where she was a proud member of | ||||||
10 | the National Honor Society and a baton twirler; she attended | ||||||
11 | the College of DuPage in Glen Ellyn and Judson College in | ||||||
12 | Chicago; and
| ||||||
13 | WHEREAS, Pat Pradel began her work career as a secretary | ||||||
14 | with the Union Camp Corporation in Chicago; she went on to | ||||||
15 | serve as Assistant to the Manager at ServiceMaster in Downers | ||||||
16 | Grove and later drove a special education school bus for 23 | ||||||
17 | years for Naperville Community Unit School District 203; and

18 | WHEREAS, Pat Pradel was a former member of Central Baptist | ||||||
19 | Church in Naperville and was a current member of Our Saviour's | ||||||
20 | Lutheran Church in Naperville; she was also a member of the | ||||||
21 | Bible Bunch prayer group and enjoyed reading, playing SCRABBLE, | ||||||
22 | solving crossword puzzles, and watching Jeopardy!; and

1 | WHEREAS, Pat Pradel was the beloved wife of 55 years of | ||||||
2 | George; the loving mother of George (the late Laura) Pradel, | ||||||
3 | Carol Pradel, and Gary (Anne) Pradel; the adored grandmother of | ||||||
4 | 6 and great-grandmother of 4; the devoted daughter of the late | ||||||
5 | Raymond and Anna Burke; the dear sister of Nancy (the late | ||||||
6 | Richard) Becker, Joyce (the late Errol) Brown, the late Shirley | ||||||
7 | (the late Ted) Taillon, the late Raymond (the late Sheila) | ||||||
8 | Burke, and the late Mary (the late Thomas) Barbera; the | ||||||
9 | sister-in-law of Jack (Ginny) Pradel, Paul (Sue) Pradel, Grace | ||||||
10 | (John) Wendel, Charlotte (Guy) Fraley, and the late Ruth (Amon) | ||||||
11 | Hill; and the fond aunt and great-aunt of many; therefore, be | ||||||

13 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL | ||||||
14 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
15 | Patricia C. "Pat" Pradel, and extend our sincere condolences to | ||||||
16 | his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | ||||||
17 | further

18 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
19 | presented to the family of Pat Pradel as an expression of our | ||||||
