2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened | ||||||
3 | to learn of the death of Edward James "Ed" Vaughn Jr. of | ||||||
4 | Cordova, who passed away on May 11, 2024; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Ed Vaughn was born in Moline to Edward Sr. and | ||||||
6 | Mable (Slininger) Vaughn on December 23, 1947; he served in | ||||||
7 | the United States Army for two years during the Vietnam War; he | ||||||
8 | married Linda Marie Nichols at the Cordova Baptist Church on | ||||||
9 | February 7, 1970; and
| ||||||
10 | WHEREAS, Ed Vaughn was employed at John Deere Harvester | ||||||
11 | Works as a welder in the maintenance department for more than | ||||||
12 | 32 years, retiring in 2004; and
| ||||||
13 | WHEREAS, Ed Vaughn enjoyed working on old cars, fishing, | ||||||
14 | and making crafts; he was a member of the Stewart Masonic Lodge | ||||||
15 | in Geneseo and the Cordova American Legion; and
| ||||||
16 | WHEREAS, Ed Vaughn was preceded in death by his parents; | ||||||
17 | and
| ||||||
18 | WHEREAS, Ed Vaughn is survived by his wife, Linda; his | ||||||
19 | children, William "Bill" (Cheryl) Vaughn and Tammy Vaughn; his | ||||||
20 | sister, Mary Louise McCarthy; his grandchildren, Matthew |
