2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened | ||||||
3 | to learn of the death of Page LeRoy Bellinger of Rock Island, | ||||||
4 | who passed away on January 3, 2024; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Page Bellinger was born to David and Dorothy | ||||||
6 | (Johnson) Bellinger in Rosebush, Michigan on September 28, | ||||||
7 | 1930; he was raised on the family farm; he served in the U.S. | ||||||
8 | Coast Guard during the Korean War from 1950 to 1953, including | ||||||
9 | completing six months of sea duty on the USCGC Campbell; he | ||||||
10 | earned his master's degree in agricultural engineering from | ||||||
11 | Michigan State University; and
| ||||||
12 | WHEREAS, Page Bellinger's career included serving as | ||||||
13 | engineering editor for Successful Farming, technical | ||||||
14 | coordinator for the American Society of Agricultural | ||||||
15 | Engineers, and product safety engineer for Deere & Company, | ||||||
16 | where he retired as manager of product safety and engineering | ||||||
17 | standards in 1992; and

18 | WHEREAS, Page Bellinger volunteered for various causes, | ||||||
19 | and he was especially committed to causes promoting literacy; | ||||||
20 | and
| ||||||
21 | WHEREAS, Page Bellinger enjoyed spending time with family |

1 | and friends, vacationing in Wisconsin, visiting with anyone he | ||||||
2 | met, taking fishing trips with friends, coaching, grilling, | ||||||
3 | writing, eating Whitey's ice cream, sharing a chuckle, and | ||||||
4 | watching sunsets; he thoroughly enjoyed music and listened to | ||||||
5 | it daily; he played the guitar, the piano, and the accordion | ||||||
6 | and could often be heard whistling, singing, or humming; and

7 | WHEREAS, Page Bellinger was preceded in death by his | ||||||
8 | sister, Wilma Blackman; his brother, Harland Bellinger; and | ||||||
9 | his son, Brad Bellinger; and
| ||||||
10 | WHEREAS, Page Bellinger is survived by his wife of 66 | ||||||
11 | years, Sandra; his son, Todd (Jennifer) Bellinger; his | ||||||
12 | daughter-in-law's sons, Anthony, Dominic, and Matthew; his | ||||||
13 | grandchildren, Kyle (Laura) Bellinger and Kiana (Sean) | ||||||
14 | Dickson; his great-granddaughter, Olivia Dickson; his | ||||||
15 | daughter, Kara (Neal) Blanche; his nephew and niece, Bruce | ||||||
16 | (Sandy) Schrock and Marcia Collins; his cousins, Cheryl (Skip) | ||||||
17 | Malin, Nina Stilgenbauer, Sunny Sjaarda, Bonnie Pierce, and | ||||||
18 | Orriene (Stuart) Denslow; and many other relatives and | ||||||
19 | friends; therefore, be it

20 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL | ||||||
21 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
22 | Page LeRoy Bellinger and extend our sincere condolences to his | ||||||
23 | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it |
