| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
| 3 | learn of the death of Patrick Henry Collins Jr., formerly of | ||||||
| 4 | Wasco, who passed away on September 24, 2017; and
| ||||||
| 5 | WHEREAS, Patrick Collins was born in Roundup, Montana to | ||||||
| 6 | Patrick Henry Sr. and Mary Jane (McCanna) Collins on October 6, | ||||||
| 7 | 1926; he served in the United States military during World War | ||||||
| 8 | II; and
| ||||||
| 9 | WHEREAS, Patrick Collins farmed in Kane County; he was also | ||||||
| 10 | a fulltime heavy equipment mechanic at various local businesses | ||||||
| 11 | and finished his working years with the Kane County Highway | ||||||
| 12 | Department; he and his wife owned and operated the Collins | ||||||
| 13 | General Store in Wasco for over 20 years; and
| ||||||
| 14 | WHEREAS, Patrick Collins served as a Republican Precinct | ||||||
| 15 | Committeeman and on the Wasco Sanitary District Board, both for | ||||||
| 16 | over 30 years; he was a lifetime member of the Kane County Farm | ||||||
| 17 | Bureau, the Wasco American Legion Post, and the Batavia Moose | ||||||
| 18 | Lodge; he was a longtime parishioner at St. Patrick Catholic | ||||||
| 19 | Church in St. Charles; he always found and cherished time with | ||||||
| 20 | family and friends; and
| ||||||
| 21 | WHEREAS, Patrick Collins was preceded in death by his | ||||||

| 1 | parents; his wife of 57 years, Julia; his daughter, Mary Jane; | ||||||
| 2 | his brothers, Tom and Jim; and his sister, Jo Nagel; and
| ||||||
| 3 | WHEREAS, Patrick Collins is survived by his children, | ||||||
| 4 | Patrick Henry III (Lynn), Darlene (Rick) Shaw, William (Karen), | ||||||
| 5 | Ann Collins, Joan Collins, and Chris (Hope) of Elburn; his | ||||||
| 6 | son-in-law, Michael Klotz; his grandchildren, Christine (Matt) | ||||||
| 7 | Busse, David (Amber) Klotz, Melissa (Noah) Augustine, Katie | ||||||
| 8 | (Clint) Settle, Andrew (Jenny) Scott, Ryan Scott, and Alyson, | ||||||
| 9 | Nicole, Patrick, and Grace Collins; his great-grandchildren, | ||||||
| 10 | Leah, Jackson, Matthew, Cameron, Carter, Halle, Lincoln, | ||||||
| 11 | Grant, Sawyer, McKinleigh, Finn, and Charleigh; his sisters, | ||||||
| 12 | Margaret Hoff, Agnes Holmberg, and Sister Amadea; and many | ||||||
| 13 | other dear relatives and friends; therefore, be it
| ||||||
| 14 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL | ||||||
| 15 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
| 16 | Patrick Henry Collins Jr., and extend our sincere condolences | ||||||
| 17 | to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be | ||||||
| 18 | it further
| ||||||
| 19 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
| 20 | presented to the family of Patrick Collins as an expression of | ||||||
| 21 | our deepest sympathy.
