SENATE RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
learn of the death of James L. Anderson of Bloomington, who
passed away on August 13, 2015; and
WHEREAS, James Anderson was born on November 15, 1936 in
Rockford; his parents were Clifford and Anna Carlin Anderson;
he married Mary Morrison on June 28, 1958 in Princeton; and
WHEREAS, James Anderson graduated from Rockford East High
School in 1954, the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign
in 1958, and the University of Illinois College of Law in 1961;
after receiving his law degree, he proudly served his country
as a captain in the United States Air Force JAG Corps;
following his military service, he practiced law in
Bloomington-Normal for more than 50 years; and
WHEREAS, James Anderson was an avid coin collector, history
buff, traveler, sportsman with a particular fondness for golf,
and raconteur; he also enjoyed Swedish food, the Chicago Bears,
the Chicago Cubs, the Fighting Illini, and spending time with
his family and friends; and
WHEREAS, James Anderson is survived by his wife, Mary; his
daughters, Mary Kathryn (Thomas) Kelly, Nancy (Robert) Krause,

Sarah (Christopher) Stride, and Anne (Scott) Walker; and his 12
grandchildren; therefore, be it
RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his
family and friends, mourn the passing of James L. Anderson; and
be it further
RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
presented to the family of James Anderson as an expression of
our sympathy.
