2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
3 | learn of the death of Brian Thompson McElwain of Downers Grove, | ||||||
4 | who passed away on September 26, 2012; and

5 | WHEREAS, Brian McElwain was born to John Allen McElwain IV | ||||||
6 | and Mary Mitchell; he graduated from Hinsdale Central High | ||||||
7 | School and the University of Colorado, with a degree in | ||||||
8 | environmental design; and
| ||||||
9 | WHEREAS, Brian McElwain owned Environmental Design | ||||||
10 | Associates, Inc.; he was active in the Y's Men at the Downers | ||||||
11 | Grove YMCA, Hinsdale Historical Society, Folk Art Society of | ||||||
12 | America, Westmont Chamber of Commerce, and the Porsche Club; | ||||||
13 | and

14 | WHEREAS, Brian McElwain was preceded in death by his | ||||||
15 | father, John Allen McElwain IV; and
| ||||||
16 | WHEREAS, Brian McElwain is survived by his wife Cathy (nee | ||||||
17 | Ballard); his step-children, Adelaide and Carolyn; his mother, | ||||||
18 | Mary Mitchell; his step-father, Harold Mitchell; his siblings, | ||||||
19 | John Farley McElwain, Bobby McElwain, Marc (Renee) Mitchell, | ||||||
20 | and Allison (Brendon) Schallert; his nieces and nephews, Jon | ||||||
21 | and Katie Mitchell, Megan and Scott McElwain, and Maeve and |
