2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
3 | learn of the death of
Edmond Landes Jr. of Peoria, who passed | ||||||
4 | away on September 27, 2010; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Edmond Landes Jr. was born on October 28, 1947, in | ||||||
6 | Peoria; his parents were Edmond Joseph Landes and Dorothy Irene | ||||||
7 | Hohenbary Landes; he married Patricia Sue James on April 8, | ||||||
8 | 1972, at St. Bernard's Church in Peoria; and
| ||||||
9 | WHEREAS, Edmond Landes Jr. served our country with pride | ||||||
10 | and distinction as a member of the United States Marine Corps | ||||||
11 | as a sergeant E-5 and jet engine mechanic; he served in | ||||||
12 | numerous locations during his career with the Marine Corps, | ||||||
13 | including Vietnam; and
| ||||||
14 | WHEREAS, Edmond Landes Jr. was well known in the Peoria | ||||||
15 | construction and development circles; after working as a | ||||||
16 | carpenter, he became a project manager for Concord; he | ||||||
17 | subsequently served as president of Huber Brothers, where he | ||||||
18 | served until his retirement 2 years ago; he also served as an | ||||||
19 | officer on the Zoning Board of Appeals in Bartonville; and

20 | WHEREAS, Edmond Landes Jr. enjoyed fishing and golfing; he | ||||||
21 | was also in the process of rebuilding his 1977 MGB; and

1 | WHEREAS, Edmond Landes Jr. was preceded in death by his | ||||||
2 | mother and his sister, Frances Mae Landes Csepregi; and
| ||||||
3 | WHEREAS, Edmond Landes Jr. is survived by his father, Ed | ||||||
4 | Landes Sr.; his wife, Pat; his daughter, Dr. Sara James Landes; | ||||||
5 | his sister, Nova Marie Landes; his brothers-in-law, Mike (Pat) | ||||||
6 | James, Bill (Donna) James and Jim (Cathy) Csepregi; his nieces | ||||||
7 | and nephews, Meta Belford, Monica (John) Mann, Katie (Charles) | ||||||
8 | Roberts, Tracy (Kurt) James-Rossouw, John (Amy) James, Norman | ||||||
9 | James, Ryan (Kelly) James, and France and Lucie Fricano; his | ||||||
10 | great-nieces and great-nephews, Kristen (Jeremy) Duckworth, | ||||||
11 | Neil Belford, Josh, Eric, and Jamie Mann, Kyle Landes, Adelyn | ||||||
12 | James, Austin Sherwood, and Ashlyn Gent; his | ||||||
13 | great-great-niece, Bella Duckworth; his many cousins, | ||||||
14 | including Mike (Angie) Landes and his son, Anthony; and his | ||||||
15 | daughter's godparents, Betty and Ernie Hayden; and

16 | WHEREAS, Edmond Landes Jr. was well known by his peers for | ||||||
17 | his great love for his daughter and wife and unwavering pride | ||||||
18 | and support for all of their endeavors, his pride in being a | ||||||
19 | Marine, and his love for riding his Harley-Davidson Heritage | ||||||
20 | Soft Tail Classic; therefore, be it
| ||||||
21 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL | ||||||
22 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with |

| |||||||
1 | his family and friends, the passing of Edmond Landes Jr.; and | ||||||
2 | be it further
| ||||||
3 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
4 | presented to the family of Edmond Landes Jr. as an expression | ||||||
5 | of our sympathy.
