2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
3 | learn of the death of Richard "Rick" Wayne Dailey Sr. of | ||||||
4 | Georgetown, who passed away on September 30, 2017; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Rick Dailey was born in Ridge Farm to Nellie | ||||||
6 | Cullen Dailey on November 11, 1945; he married Alice Louise | ||||||
7 | (Luther) Dailey on November 27, 1963; and
| ||||||
8 | WHEREAS, Rick Dailey was drafted into the US Army in 1968; | ||||||
9 | after completing basic training at Fort Leonard Wood, MO, he | ||||||
10 | was stationed at Fort Benning, GA, and Fort Dix, New Jersey, | ||||||
11 | before being deployed to Vietnam; he was honorably discharged | ||||||
12 | from Fort Lewis, Washington as a specialist; and
| ||||||
13 | WHEREAS, Rick Dailey worked for the Union Pacific Railroad | ||||||
14 | for over 30 years; he was also the owner of North Forty Supply, | ||||||
15 | where he sold hunting supplies, including handcrafted hunting | ||||||
16 | lights; and
| ||||||
17 | WHEREAS, Rick Dailey was the Senior Ride Captain for Region | ||||||
18 | Four of the Illinois Patriot Guard organization and | ||||||
19 | participated in countless missions to pay respect to his fellow | ||||||
20 | soldiers and veterans; he also served as the Post Commander, as | ||||||
21 | well as All State Commander, for the VFW Post 3510 and was a |

1 | member of the American Legion Post 210; he was a lifetime | ||||||
2 | member of the National Rifle Association; and
| ||||||
3 | WHEREAS, Rick Dailey’s prized possession was his family; he | ||||||
4 | was his grandchildren’s biggest fan, and was always front and | ||||||
5 | center at their sporting events, with a bag of popcorn and | ||||||
6 | water bottle in hand; he was known as "Grandpa Grandpa" or | ||||||
7 | "Papa Dude" to his great-grandchildren; he instilled his strong | ||||||
8 | values into his family, and it is without question that his | ||||||
9 | legacy will live on through them; and
| ||||||
10 | WHEREAS, Rick Dailey was preceded in death by his | ||||||
11 | great-granddaughter, Addison RaeAnn Dailey; and
| ||||||
12 | WHEREAS, Rick Daily is survived by his wife, Alice; his | ||||||
13 | children, Richard Wayne (Janet) Dailey Jr., Frank Edward | ||||||
14 | (Angela) Dailey, and Kelly Ann (Tony) Conrad; his | ||||||
15 | grandchildren, Jennifer Robin (Kyle) Smith, Richard Wayne | ||||||
16 | (Leather) Dailey III, Kristin Marie (Heidi) Dailey, United | ||||||
17 | States Army National Guard Private 1st Class James Wesley | ||||||
18 | Dailey, LeeAnn Rae Conrad, Colton Ross Dailey, Waylon Lee | ||||||

5 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
6 | Richard "Rick" Wayne Dailey Sr., and extend our sincere | ||||||
7 | condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved | ||||||
8 | him; and be it further

9 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
10 | presented to the family of Rick Dailey as an expression of our | ||||||
11 | deepest sympathy.
