SENATE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Leonard C. "Len" Dreas of Sugar Grove,
4who passed away on November 3, 2012; and
5 WHEREAS, Leonard Dreas was born on April 13, 1938, in
6Chicago; he was the son of the late Stanley and Gertrude
7(Grzeskiewicz) Dreas; and
8 WHEREAS, Leonard Dreas grew up in Lasalle-Peru and attended
9Saint Bede Academy; after serving his country as a member of
10the United States Air Force, he joined Rempe-Sharpe &
11Associates before joining Bill Kearney's civil engineering
12firm; in 1967, he and Ted Bergeson formed the partnership of
13Bergeson and Dreas and served as consulting civil engineers;
14over the years, the company worked on many notable projects in
15the Fox Valley area, including the Prestbury subdivision on
16Aurora's far west side; Mr. Dreas continued to run the company,
17Leonard Dreas and Associates, until his retirement in 2006; and
18 WHEREAS, Leonard Dreas enjoyed fishing, hunting, golfing,
19and traveling with his wife; and
20 WHEREAS, Leonard Dreas is survived by his loving wife,
21Patricia E. Dreas; his sons, Michael (Robin) Dreas, Cary

1(Janene) Hatteberg, and Kim (Laura) Hatteberg; his
2grandchildren, Cody Hatteberg, Danny Hatteberg, and Jack
3Hatteberg; his brother, Conrad (Orlies) Dreas; his many nieces
4and nephews; and his many friends; therefore, be it
5 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL
6ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
7his family and friends, the passing of Leonard C. "Len" Dreas;
8and be it further
9 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
10presented to the family of Leonard Dreas as an expression of
11our sympathy.
