SENATE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Wilbur Reid of Waukegan, who passed away
4on February 11, 2014; and
5 WHEREAS, Wilbur Reid was born on April 16, 1932 in Chicago;
6his parents were Emerson and Helen Reid; and
7 WHEREAS, Wilbur Reid confessed a hope in Christ at an early
8age and truly had a personal relationship with his Lord and
9Savior; he was a faithful and active member of the Greater
10Faith Church Baptist and a deacon of the church; and
11 WHEREAS, Wilbur Reid retired from OMC after approximately
1230 years of service; and
13 WHEREAS, Wilbur Reid enjoyed listening to jazz, watching
14classic westerns, and socializing with his family and friends;
15and
16 WHEREAS, Wilbur Reid was preceded in death by his wife of
1754 years, Tommie Jean Reid; his parents; his grandmother, Pearl
18Mack; his sons, Wilbert, David, and Kevin; and his daughter,
19Julie; and

1 WHEREAS, Wilbur Reid is survived by his sons, Dexter (Gay)
2and William Reid; his daughters, Pearl Wade, Michelle (Art)
3Crowley, Wilma, Gussie, and Marnita Reid; his 17 grandchildren;
4his 31 great-grandchildren; his special son, Danny King; and
5his many other family members and friends; therefore, be it
6 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL
7ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his
8family and friends, mourn the passing of Wilbur Reid; and be it
9further
10 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
11presented to the family of Wilbur Reid as an expression of our
12sympathy.
