2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
3 | learn of the death of Patricia Colleen Wannemacher of | ||||||
4 | Bloomington, who passed away on December 24, 2013; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Patricia Wannemacher was born in Bloomington on | ||||||
6 | March 17, 1931 to William and Louise (nee Erhmantraut) O'Neil; | ||||||
7 | she married Louis J. "Jerry" Wannemacher on February 5, 1951; | ||||||
8 | and
| ||||||
9 | WHEREAS, Patricia Wannemacher, along with her husband, | ||||||
10 | operated Wannemacher Electric, Inc., where she served as | ||||||
11 | President; she was active in the McLean County Electrical | ||||||
12 | Contractors Association, President of the Illinois Association | ||||||
13 | of Women Contractors and Entrepreneurs, and President of the | ||||||
14 | United Private Industry Council; and

15 | WHEREAS, Patricia Wannemacher was active in civic affairs; | ||||||
16 | she was elected to the McLean County Board and was the first | ||||||
17 | woman President of the McLean County Chamber of Commerce and | ||||||
18 | served many years on its board; she co-chaired the McLean | ||||||
19 | County 21st Century Committee, was a board member of the | ||||||
20 | Illinois Wesleyan Associates, and was a life-member of the | ||||||
21 | BroMenn Service League; and

1 | WHEREAS, Patricia Wannemacher was the recipient of several | ||||||
2 | honors; she was in the first class of the YWCA's Women of | ||||||
3 | Distinction Award, was an honorary member of Laborers | ||||||
4 | International Union of North America through Bloomington Local | ||||||
5 | 362, and was recently selected as a "History Maker" by the | ||||||
6 | McLean County Museum of History; and
| ||||||
7 | WHEREAS, Patricia Wannemacher was preceded in death by her | ||||||
8 | husband, Louis; and
| ||||||
9 | WHEREAS, Patricia Wannemacher is survived by her children, | ||||||
10 | Steve (Deb) Wannemacher, John (Sally) Wannemacher, Jo Ann | ||||||
11 | (Michael) Reidy, and Karen (Brett) Arseneault; her 8 | ||||||
12 | grandchildren; and her 7 great-grandchildren; therefore, be it
| ||||||
13 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL | ||||||
14 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
15 | Patricia Colleen Wannemacher, and extend our sincere | ||||||
16 | condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved | ||||||
17 | her; and be it further

18 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
19 | presented to the family of Patricia Wannemacher as an | ||||||
20 | expression of our deepest sympathy.
