2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
3 | learn of the death of Iris Mamie Nixon of Waukegan, who passed | ||||||
4 | away on September 7, 2017; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Iris Nixon was born in Waukegan to Ira and Mamie | ||||||
6 | Nixon on April 12, 1959; she graduated from North Chicago | ||||||
7 | Community High School in 1977; and
| ||||||
8 | WHEREAS, Iris Nixon was a longtime employee of Lake Forest | ||||||
9 | Hospital, where she worked in the dietary office; she always | ||||||
10 | greeted others with a smile; and
| ||||||
11 | WHEREAS, Iris Nixon was preceded in death by her father; | ||||||
12 | her great-nephew, Tai'Son White; and her sisters-in-law, | ||||||
13 | Sylvia and Pearl Nixon; and
| ||||||
14 | WHEREAS, Iris Nixon is survived by her mother; her son, | ||||||
15 | Tremain; her grandchildren, Isaiah and Iyonna Nixon; her | ||||||
16 | sister, Cynthia (Louis) Wilkins; her brother, Louis (Delores) | ||||||
17 | Nixon; her nieces, Tai-Amber White, Lakesha and Alexandria | ||||||
18 | Nixon; her nephews, Gerald, Demontaye, Trellis, Cedrick, | ||||||
19 | Benjamin, and Michael Nixon; and her favorite great-niece, | ||||||

4 | family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it | ||||||
