2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
3 | learn of the death of Ruth M. Weber of Bloomington, who passed | ||||||
4 | away on September 8, 2017; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Ruth Weber was born in Manitowoc, Wisconsin to | ||||||
6 | William and Marie Weber on August 7, 1937; she graduated from | ||||||
7 | Lincoln High School in Manitowoc and received her bachelor's | ||||||
8 | degree from Lawrence University in Appleton, Wisconsin; and
| ||||||
9 | WHEREAS, Ruth Weber moved to the Bloomington-Normal | ||||||
10 | community, where she worked in sales, selling women's cosmetics | ||||||
11 | to department stores and clients; and
| ||||||
12 | WHEREAS, Ruth Weber was active in Republican politics; she | ||||||
13 | was a former president of the McLean County Lincoln Club and | ||||||
14 | was elected a precinct committee woman in Normal for many | ||||||
15 | years; she attended several national and state Republican | ||||||
16 | Conventions; she was elected McLean County Recorder in 1992 and | ||||||
17 | served for several terms, retiring in 2004; she served as | ||||||
18 | president of the Friday Club where elected officials in McLean | ||||||
19 | County government would meet over lunch to share ideas and | ||||||
20 | discuss current events in county government; and

21 | WHEREAS, Ruth Weber was an avid Green Bay Packers fan all |

1 | of her life; she was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church | ||||||
2 | in Bloomington, where she played the organ for mass and various | ||||||
3 | events at the church; she showed and loved horses; she played | ||||||
4 | the organ for many years at horse shows for county fairs and | ||||||
5 | was a regular organist for horse shows at the Illinois State | ||||||
6 | Fair; and
| ||||||
7 | WHEREAS, Ruth Weber was patient, kind, and considerate to | ||||||
8 | others; she was grateful to all who helped her in her later | ||||||
9 | years, including her special friends, Ann Ripsom, Pat Pence, | ||||||
10 | Irene and Dennis Bourgerie, and Dan Deneen and his family; | ||||||
11 | therefore, be it

12 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL | ||||||
13 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
14 | Ruth M. Weber, and extend our sincere condolences to her | ||||||
15 | family, friends, and all who knew and loved her.
