2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
3 | learn of the death of David C. Foster of Danville, who passed | ||||||
4 | away on January 29, 2014; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, David Foster was born on April 30, 1947 in | ||||||
6 | Danville to Leborn Alvis and Charlett Maxine (nee Cross) | ||||||
7 | Foster; he graduated from Danville High School and served in | ||||||
8 | the United States Navy from 1965-1967; he married Lynn Ford on | ||||||
9 | April 21, 1986; and
| ||||||
10 | WHEREAS, David Foster worked in the plumbing industry for | ||||||
11 | over 40 years and was a member of Plumbers and Steamfitters | ||||||
12 | Local 293, and then Local 157; and
| ||||||
13 | WHEREAS, David Foster was a member of the Eastern Illinois | ||||||
14 | Shrine Club, the Kiwanis Club, and the Anchor Lodge; he was an | ||||||
15 | active precinct committeeman, a life-long Democrat, and a labor | ||||||
16 | activist and former President of the Danville Area AFL-CIO; he | ||||||
17 | was also a former member of the Vermilion County Conservation | ||||||
18 | Board of Directors; and

19 | WHEREAS, David Foster loved children and volunteered for | ||||||
20 | the Shriner's Children's Hospital; he was an avid storyteller | ||||||
21 | and delivered many Meals-on-Wheels to the community; he was a |

1 | fan of the Chicago Bears, the New Orleans Saints, Illini | ||||||
2 | Sports, and NASCAR; he was a history "buff" and enjoyed | ||||||
3 | traveling to try new things and meet new people; and
| ||||||
4 | WHEREAS, David Foster was preceded in death by his father | ||||||
5 | and by his sister, Linda Rusmisel; and
| ||||||
6 | WHEREAS, David Foster is survived by his wife, Lynn; his | ||||||
7 | daughter, Decema Lynette Foster-Howe; his son, Lee Gregg | ||||||
8 | Foster; his sister, Rebecca (Bill) Keith; his grandson, Levi | ||||||
9 | Nicholas; his granddaughters, Nakiseta and Aerial Foster and | ||||||
10 | Nicole Leigh Foster; and several nieces and nephews; therefore, | ||||||
11 | be it

12 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL | ||||||
13 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
14 | David C. Foster, and extend our sincere condolences to his | ||||||
15 | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | ||||||
16 | further

17 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
18 | presented to the family of David Foster as an expression of our | ||||||
19 | deepest sympathy.
