2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
3 | learn of the death of Isabel Brody, widow of former McHenry | ||||||
4 | County Circuit Judge Leonard Brody, of Pittsburgh, | ||||||
5 | Pennsylvania, who passed away on August 19, 2017; and
| ||||||
6 | WHEREAS, Isabel Brody was born in Los Angeles, California | ||||||
7 | to Joseph and Fannie (Heda) Dienstein; she graduated from the | ||||||
8 | University of California and then joined the United States Army | ||||||
9 | as a dietitian during World War II; she married Leonard Brody | ||||||
10 | on November 5, 1945; and
| ||||||
11 | WHEREAS, Isabel Brody and her family moved to McHenry in | ||||||
12 | 1963; after her youngest child started school, she went to work | ||||||
13 | as a dietitian at McHenry Community Hospital, where she worked | ||||||
14 | until 1985; upon retirement, she and her husband made their | ||||||
15 | home in Venice, Florida; and

16 | WHEREAS, Isabel Brody had a sweet disposition and made | ||||||
17 | friends easily; she never had a bad word to say about anyone or | ||||||
18 | anything; and
| ||||||
19 | WHEREAS, Isabel Brody was preceded in death by her husband, | ||||||
20 | Leonard; and

1 | WHEREAS, Isabel Brody is survived by her sons, Howard | ||||||
2 | (Daralyn) Brody and Jeff (Joyce Brown) Brody; her daughter Fern | ||||||
3 | Brody; her brother, Ben (Julie) Dienstein; her five | ||||||
4 | grandchildren; and her six nieces and nephews; therefore, be it
| ||||||
5 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL | ||||||
6 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
7 | Isabel Brody, and we extend our sincere condolences to her | ||||||
8 | family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it | ||||||
9 | further
| ||||||
10 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
11 | presented to the family of Isabel Brody as an expression of our | ||||||
12 | deepest sympathy.
