| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
| 3 | learn of the death of Shirley A. Talkington of Gillespie, who | ||||||
| 4 | passed away on January 13, 2014; and
| ||||||
| 5 | WHEREAS, Shirley Talkington was born on March 21, 1930 in | ||||||
| 6 | Gillespie to George A. and Mary (nee Herron) Talkington; and
| ||||||
| 7 | WHEREAS, Shirley Talkington retired as a clerk from the | ||||||
| 8 | State of Illinois and was a former bookkeeper with Fassero | ||||||
| 9 | Pontiac in Gillespie; and
| ||||||
| 10 | WHEREAS, Shirley Talkington was a member of Croatian Lodge | ||||||
| 11 | #217, the Macoupin County Democratic Women, and the United | ||||||
| 12 | Methodist Church of Gillespie and Women's Organization; she was | ||||||
| 13 | a volunteer at Gillespie Caring Center; and
| ||||||
| 14 | WHEREAS, Shirley Talkington was preceded in death by her | ||||||
| 15 | parents; and
| ||||||
| 16 | WHEREAS, Shirley Talkington is survived by her daughter, | ||||||
| 17 | Shawn (James) Gallo and by her grandchildren, Heather (Dan) | ||||||
| 18 | Shafer and Jamie (Greg) Gardner; therefore, be it
| ||||||
| 19 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL | ||||||

| 1 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
| 2 | Shirley A. Talkington, and extend our sincere condolences to | ||||||
| 3 | her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it | ||||||
