2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are deeply | ||||||
3 | saddened to learn of the death of Warren Sloan of West | ||||||
4 | Frankfort, who passed away on July 24, 2012; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Warren Sloan was born in West Frankfort on April | ||||||
6 | 11, 1926, to Ira and Flossie (Broy) Sloan; he married June | ||||||
7 | Forbuss on August 8, 1946; and
| ||||||
8 | WHEREAS, Warren Sloan was a U.S. Army veteran during World | ||||||
9 | War II and the Korean War; he was in the 764th Field Artillery; | ||||||
10 | and
| ||||||
11 | WHEREAS, Warren Sloan was a member of Moose Lodge 795, Elks | ||||||
12 | Lodge 1340, and VFW Local 5764; he was precinct committee man | ||||||
13 | for Frankfort 2, trustee for Freeman 3, member of the Frankfort | ||||||
14 | Township Board, retired coal miner, street supervisor, and | ||||||
15 | business agent for Local 188 Laborers Union; and

16 | WHEREAS, Warren Sloan was preceded in death by his parents, | ||||||
17 | Ira and Flossie Sloan; his son, Alan Sloan; his brothers, Leroy | ||||||
18 | and Phillip Sloan; and his sister Lucille Blades; and
| ||||||
19 | WHEREAS, Warren Sloan is survived by his wife, June; his | ||||||
20 | sons, Bob (Paula) Sloan, Chuck Sloan, Kenny (Connie) Sloan, and |

1 | Jim (Darla) Sloan; his daughter, Nora (Charlie) Lelase; his | ||||||
2 | nephews, Ronnie (Sandy) Sloan, and Jeff, Brett, and Jason | ||||||

4 | and his great-grandchildren, Tenzley, Sandler, and Avery; | ||||||

7 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
8 | Warren Sloan, and we extend our sincere condolences to his | ||||||
9 | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | ||||||
