2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened | ||||||
3 | to learn of the death of James Carl "Jim" Helfers of Cuba, who | ||||||
4 | passed away on February 24, 2022; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Jim Helfers was born to Carl and Glenda | ||||||
6 | (Throgmartin) Helfers in Hillsboro on December 19, 1954; he | ||||||
7 | graduated from Minonk-Dana-Rutland (MDR) High School in 1973; | ||||||
8 | he married Kim Hammond in Lewistown on October 16, 2020; and
| ||||||
9 | WHEREAS, Jim Helfers retired from the Steamfitters Union | ||||||
10 | Local #353 in Peoria in 2008; and
| ||||||
11 | WHEREAS, Jim Helfers enjoyed motorcycles; and
| ||||||
12 | WHEREAS, Jim Helfers was preceded in death by his parents | ||||||
13 | and his brother, Chuck Helfers; and
| ||||||
14 | WHEREAS, Jim Helfers is survived by his wife; his | ||||||
15 | children, Heidi (the late Troy) Edwards, Heather Helfers, Cody | ||||||
16 | (Jen) Helfers, and Hailey Helfers; his stepson, Brandon | ||||||
17 | Hammond; his brothers, Marty (Teresa) Helfers, Mike (Karen) | ||||||
18 | Helfers, and Danny (Cher) Helfers; his sister, Nancy Hall; and | ||||||
19 | his grandchildren, Kaleb, Austin, Keegan, Skylar, Landon, and | ||||||
20 | Jaclyn; therefore, be it

4 | his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | ||||||
