2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
3 | learn of the death of Doris Pack-Clemons; and
| ||||||
4 | WHEREAS, Doris Pack-Clemons was born in Chicago to
Joseph | ||||||
5 | and Margaret Pack on October 26, 1928; she attended Raymond | ||||||
6 | Elementary School, Wendell Phillips High
School, and | ||||||
7 | Kennedy-King College; she was baptized as a child and attended | ||||||
8 | Progressive Baptist Church; she
married Walter Mack Clemons; | ||||||
9 | and
| ||||||
10 | WHEREAS, As a young woman, Doris Pack-Clemons was employed | ||||||
11 | with Nabisco; for many years, she served as a supervisor | ||||||
12 | nutritionist with Chicago
Public Schools, where she received | ||||||
13 | numerous recognitions; upon her retirement, she operated | ||||||
14 | Clemons Daycare Center
until she was in her late 70s; and
| ||||||
15 | WHEREAS, Doris Pack-Clemons was a life-long believer in the | ||||||
16 | principles of metaphysics; she was an active member of Aloe | ||||||
17 | International; she served for many
years as an election judge | ||||||
18 | and was a committee member for her homeowner's association in | ||||||
19 | Olympia
Fields; she enjoyed traveling, dancing, music, | ||||||
20 | cooking, gardening, cards, bowling, board games, soap operas, | ||||||
21 | plays, movies,
books, amusement parks, and the Ice Capades; and

1 | WHEREAS, Doris Pack-Clemons was preceded in death by her | ||||||
2 | husband, Walter; her son, Don "Donny" Edward; her grandmother, | ||||||
3 | Almita; her parents; her sisters, Dorothy, Lorraine (Edson), | ||||||
4 | and Christine (William); her great-grandson,
James; her | ||||||
5 | nephews, Edwin, Brent, and Arthur III; her cousins, Walter, | ||||||
6 | Ernst, Ellen, Lance, Diane,
and Leontyne; her best friends, | ||||||
7 | Mattie Mae, Janine, and Claudia; and her god-daughters, Janice | ||||||
8 | and Cathy; and

9 | WHEREAS, Doris Pack-Clemons is survived by her daughter, | ||||||

22 | Doris Pack-Clemons and extend our sincere condolences to her | ||||||
23 | family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it | ||||||
