| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened | ||||||
| 3 | to learn of the death of Ronald J. Ward of Chatham, who passed | ||||||
| 4 | away on January 31, 2026; and | ||||||
| 5 | WHEREAS, Ronald Ward was born to the late Russell and | ||||||
| 6 | Betty (Ewing) Ward in Jacksonville on June 22, 1950; he served | ||||||
| 7 | in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War; he married | ||||||
| 8 | Katherine M. "Kitty" Moran Koeppel on August 1, 1992; and | ||||||
| 9 | WHEREAS, Ronald Ward retired as a security therapy aide | ||||||
| 10 | from the Department of Human Services after 20 years of | ||||||
| 11 | service to the State of Illinois; and | ||||||
| 12 | WHEREAS, Ronald Ward enjoyed antique guns, daggers, cars, | ||||||
| 13 | and ham radio, but his greatest enjoyment came from taking | ||||||
| 14 | care of his family; and | ||||||
| 15 | WHEREAS, Ronald Ward is survived by his wife; his son, | ||||||
| 16 | Daniel Koeppel; his daughters, Elizabeth Koeppel and Katherine | ||||||
| 17 | Koeppel; his grandchildren, Parker Loveless and Hannah | ||||||
| 18 | Loveless; and his dog, Luna; therefore, be it | ||||||
| 19 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL | ||||||
| 20 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||

| 1 | Ronald J. Ward and extend our sincere condolences to his | ||||||
| 2 | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | ||||||
