| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened | ||||||
| 3 | to learn of the death of Deborah Grace (Hanson) Carlson, a | ||||||
| 4 | longtime resident of Deerfield, who passed away on February | ||||||
| 5 | 12, 2022; and
| ||||||
| 6 | WHEREAS, Deborah Carlson was born in Bellows Falls, | ||||||
| 7 | Vermont on June 15, 1929; she graduated from Bellows Falls | ||||||
| 8 | High School and then attended Becker Junior College in | ||||||
| 9 | Worcester, Massachusetts; she married Roger Carlson in 1956; | ||||||
| 10 | and
| ||||||
| 11 | WHEREAS, Deborah Carlson became a medical secretary in | ||||||
| 12 | Boston, which fueled a lifelong interest in all things | ||||||
| 13 | medical; she then worked as a stewardess with American | ||||||
| 14 | Airlines and flew out of O'Hare Airport; later, she worked as | ||||||
| 15 | an activities director at the Whitehall in Deerfield and in | ||||||
| 16 | sales at I. Magnin in Northbrook; and
| ||||||
| 17 | WHEREAS, Deborah Carlson enjoyed singing, dancing, | ||||||
| 18 | theater, travel, and tennis, occasionally reminding people | ||||||
| 19 | that she once played doubles with Australian legend Roy | ||||||
| 20 | Emerson; she was a dedicated visitor to Ravinia and the | ||||||
| 21 | Chicago Botanic Garden; she was a lifelong Democrat; and

| 1 | WHEREAS, Deborah Carlson was preceded in death by her | ||||||
| 2 | husband, Roger, and her son, Greg; and
| ||||||
| 3 | WHEREAS, Deborah Carlson is survived by her children, | ||||||
| 4 | Jeffrey (Marcia) Carlson, Ann (Clifford) Miller, Leslie | ||||||
| 5 | Carlson Magee, and Susan Carlson; her grandchildren, Kyle and | ||||||
| 6 | Dillon McAfee, Lee (Andrew) Rizzo, Clinton, Kevin, and Jay | ||||||
| 7 | Magee, Michael and Katherine Carlson, and Drew and Woody | ||||||
| 8 | Miller; and her great-grandchildren, Frances, Charlotte, | ||||||
| 9 | Zeyda, and Louise; therefore, be it
| ||||||
| 10 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL | ||||||
| 11 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
| ||||||
| 12 | Deborah Grace (Hanson) Carlson and extend our sincere
| ||||||
| 13 | condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved
| ||||||
| 14 | her; and be it further
| ||||||
| 15 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
| ||||||
| 16 | presented to the family of Deborah Carlson as an expression of
| ||||||
| 17 | our deepest sympathy.
