| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
| 3 | learn of the death of Brian N. Cox of Sawyerville, who passed | ||||||
| 4 | away on November 22, 2019; and
| ||||||
| 5 | WHEREAS, Brian Cox was born in Litchfield to Glen R. | ||||||
| 6 | "Buzzy" and Barbara A. (Olds) Cox on November 23, 1974; he | ||||||
| 7 | served in the U.S. Army and married Khara L. Sies in | ||||||
| 8 | Carlinville on December 23, 1994; and
| ||||||
| 9 | WHEREAS, Brian Cox was a correctional officer at the | ||||||
| 10 | federal correctional institute in Greenville; he was a member | ||||||
| 11 | of the Correctional Peace Officers Foundation and Local 1304 - | ||||||
| 12 | Council of Prisons; he also worked on the family farm; and
| ||||||
| 13 | WHEREAS, Brian Cox was a member of VFW Post 4547 in | ||||||
| 14 | Gillespie; he enjoyed being outdoors, fishing, gardening, | ||||||
| 15 | camping, and taking care of animals; he and his daughter, | ||||||
| 16 | Brilynn, shared a love of animals; he also enjoyed being with | ||||||
| 17 | his family and listening to old music; and
| ||||||
| 18 | WHEREAS, Brian Cox was preceded in death by his | ||||||
| 19 | father-in-law, Norman Sies; his sister, Sara Beth Cox; his | ||||||
| 20 | nephew, Caleb Cox; and his uncles, Stephen Olds and Jim | ||||||
| 21 | Huhsmann; and

| 1 | WHEREAS, Brian Cox is survived by his wife, Khara; his | ||||||
| 2 | daughter, Brilynn Hayden Cox; his parents; his siblings, Cheryl | ||||||
| 3 | (Marty) Derganc, Annette (Bart) Baker, Glen Joseph (Joann) Cox, | ||||||
| 4 | Barbie Cox, Glenda (Tim) Margaritas, Kathleen Cox, Michael Cox, | ||||||
| 5 | Cara (Tim Bates) Cox, Dale (Tina) Cox, and Brady (Brandi) Cox; | ||||||
| 6 | his mother-in-law, Joyce Sies; his sister-in-law, Katina | ||||||
| 7 | (Chester) Weller; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, and | ||||||
| 8 | nephews; therefore, be it

| 9 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL | ||||||
| 10 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
| 11 | Brian N. Cox and extend our sincere condolences to his family, | ||||||
| 12 | friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further
| ||||||
| 13 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
| 14 | presented to the family of Brian Cox as an expression of our | ||||||
| 15 | deepest sympathy.
