SENATE RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
learn of the death of June Craig of Indianola, who passed away
on July 7, 2017, alongside her husband, Harold; and
WHEREAS, June Craig was born in Georgetown to Rex and
Lillie Dale Gray Edmonds on June 15, 1922; she married Harold
Craig at her parents' home in Georgetown on October 15, 1948;
and
WHEREAS, June Craig taught for over 40 years in the
Georgetown school system and owned and operated Craig's
Antiques; and
WHEREAS, June Craig was a member of the Indianola Methodist
Church, where she taught Sunday school and had been a youth
group leader; she was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star
and enjoyed mushroom hunting and square dancing; and
WHEREAS, June Craig was preceded in death by her brothers,
Denzel Edmonds, Joe Edmonds, and Otis D. Edmonds, and her
sisters, Virginia Penn and Susan Widman; and
WHEREAS, June Craig is survived by her daughters, Janey
(Kim) Jolley and Gaile (Bob) Sekerka; her grandson, Kevin

(Kara) Jolley; her great-grandchildren, Kya and Kaelyn Jolley;
and her sister, Beverly Jane Smith; therefore, be it
RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
June Craig, and extend our sincere condolences to her family,
friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
presented to the family of June Craig as an expression of our
deepest sympathy.
