SENATE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Dominic Andrew "Dom" Saccomano, who
4passed away on January 26, 2024; and
5 WHEREAS, Dom Saccomano was born to Andrew and Juanita
6(Mudd) Saccomano in Springfield on January 27, 1960; and
7 WHEREAS, Dom Saccomano was a dedicated employee of City
8Water, Light & Power for over 35 years, retiring as meter
9reader foreman; he also spent many evenings and weekends
10building homes in Twin Lakes and Grants Ridge, and he built his
11own home in Pleasant Plains; and
12 WHEREAS, Dom Saccomano was a member of the Bowling Hall of
13Fame; he started bowling at King Pin Lanes in Springfield at
14the age of nine and bowled 15 perfect games, scoring 300, and
15had two 800 series games; and
16 WHEREAS, Dom Saccomano was an avid fan of the Chicago
17Bears and NASCAR, and he enjoyed attending his annual
18Talladega NASCAR racing trip with his friends; he also loved
19vacationing in the Caribbean Islands and snowmobiling in the
20Northwoods with his wife; and

1 WHEREAS, Dom Saccomano was a hard worker, a loving
2husband, a supportive father, and an involved grandfather; he
3always lent a helping hand to friends and family alike; and
4 WHEREAS, Dom Saccomano was preceded in death by his
5parents; his brother, George Bechtel; and his stepmother,
6Irene Saccomano; and
7 WHEREAS, Dom Saccomano is survived by his wife of 31
8years, Jill (Norman) Saccomano; his children, Garren
9(Jennifer) Saccomano, Shawna (Matt) Adams, and Andrea
10(Patrick) Donahue; 12 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren;
11his siblings, Carmella (Mike) Keams, Jerry Bechtel, and Cloyd
12Bechtel; his sister-in-law, Jody (Greg) Smith; and several
13nieces and nephews; therefore, be it
14 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL
15ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
16Dominic Andrew "Dom" Saccomano and extend our sincere
17condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved
18him; and be it further
