| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
| 3 | learn of the death of
Myrtle H. Grant, who passed away on June | ||||||
| 4 | 24, 2012; and
| ||||||
| 5 | WHEREAS, Myrtle Grant was born on February 8, 1921, in Wood | ||||||
| 6 | River; she was the daughter of the late Joseph B. and Caroline | ||||||
| 7 | (Neff) Friederich; she married Gaylen R. Grant on August 20, | ||||||
| 8 | 1949, at St. Bernard's in Wood River; and
| ||||||
| 9 | WHEREAS, Prior to having her children, Myrtle Grant was | ||||||
| 10 | employed at her father's grocery store, "Friederich's", in Wood | ||||||
| 11 | River; she also worked at Shell Oil and the First National Bank | ||||||
| 12 | of Alton; and
| ||||||
| 13 | WHEREAS, Myrtle Grant was a member of St. Ambrose Catholic | ||||||
| 14 | Church for 60 years; she was also involved with the RCIA | ||||||
| 15 | Program and the Arms of Love; and
| ||||||
| 16 | WHEREAS, Myrtle Grant enjoyed swimming, biking, the | ||||||
| 17 | outdoors, and spending time with her family and friends; and
| ||||||
| 18 | WHEREAS, Myrtle Grant was preceded in death by her parents; | ||||||
| 19 | her husband, Gaylen; and her brother, Leo Friederich; and
| ||||||

| 1 | WHEREAS, Myrtle Grant is survived by her daughters, Carol | ||||||
| 2 | (Michael) Redd and Linda (Chris) Potts; her sons, William | ||||||
| 3 | (Mary) Grant, Richard (Holly) Grant, and Joseph (Fay) Grant; | ||||||
| 4 | her 16 grandchildren; her 11 great-grandchildren; her | ||||||
| 5 | brothers, Leonard (Lucille) Friederich, James (Patricia) | ||||||
| 6 | Friederich, and Eugene (Carmelita) Friederich; and her many | ||||||
| 7 | nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends; therefore, be it
| ||||||
| 8 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL | ||||||
| 9 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with | ||||||
| 10 | her family and friends, the passing of Myrtle H. Grant; and be | ||||||
| 11 | it further
| ||||||
| 12 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
| 13 | presented to the family of Myrtle Grant as an expression of our | ||||||
| 14 | sympathy.
