SENATE RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
learn of the death of David Aguirre of Park City, who passed
away on May 8, 2010; and
WHEREAS, David Aguirre was a native of Guatemala, living
there up to his young adulthood; he met his beloved wife, Mercy
Aguirre, while in Guatemala; and
WHEREAS, He served on the Board of Directors of IRTRA and
founded Guatemala's first theme park; shortly thereafter he and
his family decided to fulfill the American dream and migrated
to the United States, settling in Park City; and
WHEREAS, He worked for Duraclean International for 16
years; he became involved with the community and proudly served
as an Alderman of Park City for 4 years; and
WHEREAS, He loved family trips, dancing, singing, working
on cars, attending church, and most of all meeting new people
and helping them in any way he could; he enjoyed his time spent
with his brothers and sisters of Famenal; his greatest joys in
his life were his wife, children, grandchildren, and
great-grandchildren; and

WHEREAS, David Aguirre is survived by Mercy, his wife of
nearly 39 years; his three children, Alex, Sandy (Eric Smith),
and Nancy; his two grandchildren, Jeralyn and Mia; his
great-granddaughter, Zoey; his sisters, Alicia, Ruth, and Eva;
and many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews;
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL
ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
his family and friends, the passing of David Aguirre; and be it
further
RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
presented to the family of David Aguirre as a symbol of our
sincere sympathy.
