SENATE RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, the members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
learn of the death of Petty Officer Third Class Logan Stephen
Palmer, United States Navy, of Decatur, who passed away in
service to his country; and
WHEREAS, Petty Officer Palmer graduated from Sangamon
Valley High School in 2012 and from Richland Community College
in 2015; he joined the United States Navy in April 2016 and was
committed to making the Navy a career; he was an interior
communications electrician aboard the USS John S. McCain; he
received a National Defense Medal and was excited about the
adventures the Navy would offer him; and
WHEREAS, Petty Officer Palmer was a wonderful young man, an
Eagle Scout, and an active member in the family's church; he
loved his family dearly and was a great little brother to his
older brothers and a "cool big brother" to his younger sister;
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
Petty Officer Third Class Logan Stephen Palmer, United States
Navy, and extend our sincere condolences to his family,
friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
presented to the family of Petty Officer Palmer as an
expression of our deepest sympathy.
