| ||||||
2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
3 | learn of the death of
Lottie M. Siwula, who passed away on June | ||||||
4 | 2, 2012; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Lottie Siwula was born on November 1, 1921; she | ||||||
6 | was the youngest child of Michael and Angela (Michna) Witek; | ||||||
7 | she married Matthew M. Siwula on January 6, 1945; and
| ||||||
8 | WHEREAS, Lottie Siwula graduated from Holy Rosary Grade | ||||||
9 | School in 1935; she also attended Waukegan High School; and
| ||||||
10 | WHEREAS, Lottie Siwula became a licensed cosmetologist in | ||||||
11 | 1962 and provided clients with beautician services in her home | ||||||
12 | for more than 2 decades; she was also employed at Johnson | ||||||
13 | Motors and Sager Lock; and
| ||||||
14 | WHEREAS, Lottie Siwula was a dedicated volunteer | ||||||
15 | throughout her life; she was an active member of Holy Rosary | ||||||
16 | Parish, including the Rosary Sodality and St. Elizabeth's Club; | ||||||
17 | in 2005, she was the recipient of the President's Call to | ||||||
18 | Service Lifetime Achievement Award in recognition of her 35 | ||||||
19 | years (4,754 hours) of volunteer service with the Knights of | ||||||
20 | Columbus Wheelers, transporting patients to chapel services at | ||||||
21 | the Veterans Administration Hospital (now Lovell Federal |

1 | Health Care Center) in North Chicago; and
| ||||||
2 | WHEREAS, Lottie Siwula enjoyed cooking, especially Polish | ||||||
3 | specialties such as pierogi, golabki, fried mushrooms, and | ||||||
4 | assorted baked goods; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Lottie Siwula was preceded in death by her | ||||||
6 | parents; her husband; and her brother, Joseph Witek; and
| ||||||
7 | WHEREAS, Lottie Siwula is survived by her children, | ||||||
8 | Lawrence Siwula (Tyleen), Sandra Odorzynski (Thomas), Judith | ||||||
9 | Jensen (Phillip), and Garry Siwula; her sister, Irene Charcut; | ||||||
10 | her grandchildren, Laura (Brendan) Hannigan, Andrea (Tim) | ||||||
11 | Shales, Angela (Pat) Cote, Ann (Kevin) Sage, John (Melissa) | ||||||
12 | Odorzynski, Christopher (Debora) Jensen, Amy (Joel) Dangel, | ||||||
13 | Ashley Siwula, and Matthew E. Siwula; her 14 | ||||||
14 | great-grandchildren; and her many nieces and nephews; | ||||||
15 | therefore, be it

16 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL | ||||||
17 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with | ||||||
18 | her family and friends, the passing of Lottie M. Siwula; and be | ||||||
19 | it further
| ||||||
20 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
21 | presented to the family of Lottie Siwula as an expression of |
