SENATE RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
learn of the death of Kenneth L. Edwards of Pittsfield, who
passed away on June 4, 2012; and
WHEREAS, He was born on August 18, 1939 in Springfield, the
son of Abner C. and Lillian E. Yancy Edwards; he married Janet
Heavner on April 17, 1965 in the Pearl Christian Church; he was
of the Methodist faith; and
WHEREAS, He graduated from Western Illinois University and
was a member of the Sigma Phi Fraternity while in college; he
was a teacher at Divernon High School; he also worked as a
Petroleum Specialist with Gromark in Bloomington and as a
Regulatory Administrative Manager with Gromark; he was the Pike
County Code Hearing Officer for 10 years, and was also the Pike
County Zoning Officer; and
WHEREAS, He was a member of the American Feed Association,
the National Rifle Association, and the Pike County Tea Party;
he served on the property tax appeals board and served as a
Pearl Township Trustee; he enjoyed hunting, fishing,
photography, traveling and going to national parks, and
Labrador Retrievers; and

WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his brother, Thomas;
and
WHEREAS, Kenneth Edwards is survived by his wife, Janet;
his sons, Chad (Beth) Edwards and Thomas Edwards; and his
daughter, Jeanne Edwards; therefore, be it
RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL
ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
his family and friends, the passing of Kenneth Edwards; and be
it further
RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
presented to the family of Kenneth Edwards as a symbol of our
sincere sympathy.
