| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
| 3 | learn of the death of Chester Lis at the age of 79; and
| ||||||
| 4 | WHEREAS, Chester Lis graduated from Holy Trinity High | ||||||
| 5 | School; he received a degree in mechanical engineering from the | ||||||
| 6 | Illinois Institute of Technology and his Master of Business | ||||||
| 7 | Administration from Northwestern University; and
| ||||||
| 8 | WHEREAS, Chester Lis had a successful career in engineering | ||||||
| 9 | and consulting; and
| ||||||
| 10 | WHEREAS, Chester Lis was involved with Holy Trinity High | ||||||
| 11 | School; he served on the board and was president of the alumni | ||||||
| 12 | association; and
| ||||||
| 13 | WHEREAS, Coaching his grandsons, Chester Lis was known as | ||||||
| 14 | "Coach Chet" and volunteered for 12 years as a youth football | ||||||
| 15 | coach; he was an active member of his community and served on | ||||||
| 16 | the board of his neighborhood's homeowners association; and
| ||||||
| 17 | WHEREAS, Chester Lis was the beloved husband of 55 years of | ||||||
| 18 | Arlene; the loving father of Karen (Jeff) Gutowsky, Kathy | ||||||
| 19 | (Mark) Peterson, and Juliane (Scott) Kirkner; the cherished | ||||||
| 20 | grandpa of Matthew (Kellie), Kevin, Tyler (Erica), Ryan | ||||||

| 1 | (Jenna), Brett, Alissa, Jack, Brendan, Hailey, and Andrew; the | ||||||
| 2 | dear brother of the late Walter Sr. (late Dorothy) Lis, the | ||||||
| 3 | late Evelyn (late Henry) Schorsch, Lorraine (late Anthony) | ||||||
| 4 | Lagona, Alice (late Stanley) Stafiej, Jennie (late Howard) | ||||||
| 5 | Johnson, and Jeanette (Roger) Olson; and the fond uncle of many | ||||||
| 6 | nieces and nephews; therefore, be it
| ||||||
| 7 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL | ||||||
| 8 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
| 9 | Chester Lis and extend our sincere condolences to his family, | ||||||
| 10 | friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further
| ||||||
| 11 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
| 12 | presented to the family of Chester Lis as an expression of our | ||||||
| 13 | deepest sympathy.
