SENATE RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
learn of the death of Derrick Little of Waukegan, who passed
away on December 9, 2013; and
WHEREAS, Derrick Little was born on October 18, 1967 in
Eutawville, South Carolina to Gary and Mabel Little; he
graduated from Holly Hill Roberts High School in Holly Hill,
South Carolina in 1985 and joined the United States Army,
serving for 20 years as a Chief Petty Officer; he married
Christine E. Scott in September of 1991; and
WHEREAS, Derrick Little was employed at the Veterans
Affairs Medical Center in North Chicago and the Lake Forest
Hospital as a sterilization technician; and
WHEREAS, Derrick Little is survived by his wife, Christine;
his sons, Derrick and David Little; his parents, Gary and Mable
Little; his sisters, Rosalind (Keith) Gillard and Carolina
(David) Oliver; his cousin, Curtis Oliver; his 6
brothers-in-law; his 5 sisters-in-law; and a host of nephews,
nieces, cousins; and many, many friends; therefore, be it
RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL
ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of

Derrick Little, and extend our sincere condolences to his
family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
further
RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
presented to the family of Derrick Little as an expression of
our deepest sympathy.
