SENATE RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
learn of the death of Dorothy L. Taylor of Peoria, who passed
away on November 1, 2019; and
WHEREAS, Dorothy Taylor was born in Luxora, Arkansas to
Robert and Ilar (Jenkins) Bonds on August 18, 1950; and
WHEREAS, Dorothy Taylor worked in code enforcement for the
City of Peoria for over 40 years before retiring in 2012; and
WHEREAS, Dorothy Taylor was a member of St. Paul Baptist
Church in Peoria, where she sang and ministered with Women of
Courage; along with her love of singing, she enjoyed dancing
and spending time with her family and friends, especially her
children and grandchildren; and
WHEREAS, Dorothy Taylor was preceded in death by her
father; her son, Ernest Taylor Jr.; and her brothers, Edward
Dean Bonds and Willie Bonds Jr.; and
WHEREAS, Dorothy Taylor is survived by her mother, Ilar
Bonds; her daughters, Ebonie Kelly and Yolonda Taylor; 14
brothers and sisters; six grandchildren; 16
great-grandchildren; and numerous nephews and nieces;

therefore, be it
RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL
ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
Dorothy L. Taylor and extend our sincere condolences to her
family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
further
RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
presented to the family of Dorothy Taylor as an expression of
our deepest sympathy.
