| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
| 3 | learn of the death of Kenneth C. Donoghue of Pearl River, New | ||||||
| 4 | York, who passed away on June 23, 2017; and
| ||||||
| 5 | WHEREAS, Kenneth Donoghue was born in New York City to | ||||||
| 6 | Richard and Marguerite Donoghue on June 16, 1927; he served in | ||||||
| 7 | the United States Navy during World War II and received his | ||||||
| 8 | bachelor's and master's degrees from the University of Notre | ||||||
| 9 | Dame; and
| ||||||
| 10 | WHEREAS, Kenneth Donoghue worked for NBC News as a | ||||||
| 11 | producer, covering stories all across the world for 30 years; | ||||||
| 12 | he retired in 1988; and
| ||||||
| 13 | WHEREAS, For years, Kenneth Donoghue volunteered four days | ||||||
| 14 | a week at the Meals on Wheels Bobbi Lewis Center; he was named | ||||||
| 15 | as a Volunteer of the Year; and
| ||||||
| 16 | WHEREAS, Kenneth Donoghue loved to travel and enjoyed | ||||||
| 17 | spending time with his children and grandchildren; he was an | ||||||
| 18 | avid walker, reader, bridge player, and lover of nature; and
| ||||||
| 19 | WHEREAS, Kenneth Donoghue is survived by his wife of 58 | ||||||
| 20 | years, Gloria Donoghue; his children, Sue Massaro (Peter), Mary | ||||||

| |||||||
| 1 | Caughlin (Keith), and Tom Donoghue (Nora); and his | ||||||
| 2 | grandchildren, Nick, Tim, Chris, Dennis, Steven, Cole, and | ||||||
| 3 | Robbie; therefore, be it
| ||||||
| 4 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL | ||||||
| 5 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
| 6 | Kenneth C. Donoghue, and extend our sincere condolences to his | ||||||
| 7 | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | ||||||
| 8 | further

| 9 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
