| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
| 3 | learn of the death of
Kim Presbrey of Aurora, who passed away | ||||||
| 4 | on May 26, 2012; and
| ||||||
| 5 | WHEREAS, Kim Presbrey graduated from West Aurora High | ||||||
| 6 | School in 1969, Northwestern University in 1973, and Vanderbilt | ||||||
| 7 | Law School in 1976; after graduation, he practiced law with his | ||||||
| 8 | father at Presbrey and Presbrey and became principal owner of | ||||||
| 9 | the firm after his father's retirement; and
| ||||||
| 10 | WHEREAS, Kim Presbrey was the managing partner of Presbrey & | ||||||
| 11 | Associates and practiced workers compensation law since 1977; | ||||||
| 12 | he also served as president of Illinois Futures Inc., a | ||||||
| 13 | scholarship program for children of disabled workers, for 10 | ||||||
| 14 | years and was a founding member of a medical malpractice | ||||||
| 15 | insurance company that he started in December of 2006; and
| ||||||
| 16 | WHEREAS, Kim Presbrey was a past president of the Illinois | ||||||
| 17 | Trial Lawyers Association and a member of the Board of | ||||||
| 18 | Governors of the Illinois State Bar Association; he was also a | ||||||
| 19 | member of the Workers' Compensation Section of the Illinois | ||||||
| 20 | State Bar Association and the Larson's National Workers' | ||||||
| 21 | Compensation Advisory Board, Vice President of the Workplace | ||||||
| 22 | Injury Litigation Group, and a past secretary and section | ||||||

| 1 | member of the Association of Trial Lawyers of America Workers' | ||||||
| 2 | Compensation Section; and
| ||||||
| 3 | WHEREAS, Kim Presbrey was the co-author of the LexisNexis | ||||||
| 4 | Illinois Workers' Compensation Guidebook; and
| ||||||
| 5 | WHEREAS, Kim Presbrey believed in supporting the community | ||||||
| 6 | he was born and raised in, and sponsored many youth football | ||||||
| 7 | and baseball teams; he also worked with the Illinois | ||||||
| 8 | Conservation Foundation for many years; and
| ||||||
| 9 | WHEREAS, Kim Presbrey enjoyed nature, watching the Chicago | ||||||
| 10 | Cubs, flying, and walking fields with his best friend and | ||||||
| 11 | hunting dog, Hershey; and
| ||||||
| 12 | WHEREAS, Kim Presbrey is survived by his wife, Colleen; his | ||||||
| 13 | sons, Kenton and Kevin; and his brother, Tom Presbrey; | ||||||
| 14 | therefore, be it

| 15 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL | ||||||
| 16 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with | ||||||
| 17 | her family and friends, the passing of Kim Presbrey; and be it | ||||||
| 18 | further
| ||||||
| 19 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
| 20 | presented to the family of Kim Presbrey as an expression of our | ||||||
