2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
3 | learn of the death of Consorica V. Irizari, who passed away on | ||||||
4 | April 10, 2010; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, She was born on June 22, 1931 in the Philippines; | ||||||
6 | she immigrated to Chicago in 1976, along with her children and | ||||||
7 | her husband; she was a devout Catholic and strong in her faith; | ||||||
8 | and
| ||||||
9 | WHEREAS, She sacrificed a life of comfort in the | ||||||
10 | Philippines for the chance at a better future for her children; | ||||||
11 | and
| ||||||
12 | WHEREAS, She was educated in the Philippines and graduated | ||||||
13 | from college summa cum laude; and
| ||||||
14 | WHEREAS, During World War II, she witnessed the Japanese | ||||||
15 | occupation of the Philippines and was the Japanese interpreter | ||||||
16 | for her family; and
| ||||||
17 | WHEREAS, Consorica Irizari is survived by her siblings, | ||||||
18 | Lieutenant Colonel Nestor Venturina and Ine Venturina Cruz; her | ||||||
19 | husband, Benedicto Irizari; her children, Alexis (Vicki | ||||||
20 | Filomeno) Irizari, Annie (Aaron) Muller, and Angie (Edwin) |

1 | Policarpio; and her grandchildren, Melanie (Keith) Rocero, | ||||||
2 | Valerie Irizari, Haley Muller, and Alyssa and Brianna | ||||||
3 | Policarpio; therefore, be it

4 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL | ||||||
5 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with | ||||||
6 | her family and friends, the passing of Consorica Irizari; and | ||||||
7 | be it further

8 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
9 | presented to the family of Consorica V. Irizari as a symbol of | ||||||
10 | our sincere sympathy.
