SENATE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3 learn of the death of Consorica V. Irizari, who passed away on
4 April 10, 2010; and
5 WHEREAS, She was born on June 22, 1931 in the Philippines;
6 she immigrated to Chicago in 1976, along with her children and
7 her husband; she was a devout Catholic and strong in her faith;
8 and
9 WHEREAS, She sacrificed a life of comfort in the
10 Philippines for the chance at a better future for her children;
11 and
12 WHEREAS, She was educated in the Philippines and graduated
13 from college summa cum laude; and
14 WHEREAS, During World War II, she witnessed the Japanese
15 occupation of the Philippines and was the Japanese interpreter
16 for her family; and
17 WHEREAS, Consorica Irizari is survived by her siblings,
18 Lieutenant Colonel Nestor Venturina and Ine Venturina Cruz; her
19 husband, Benedicto Irizari; her children, Alexis (Vicki
20 Filomeno) Irizari, Annie (Aaron) Muller, and Angie (Edwin)

1 Policarpio; and her grandchildren, Melanie (Keith) Rocero,
2 Valerie Irizari, Haley Muller, and Alyssa and Brianna
3 Policarpio; therefore, be it
4 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL
5 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
6 her family and friends, the passing of Consorica Irizari; and
7 be it further
8 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
9 presented to the family of Consorica V. Irizari as a symbol of
10 our sincere sympathy.
