SENATE RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
learn of the death of Donald Andries, who passed away on July
8, 2015; and
WHEREAS, Donald Andries was born in Chicago and grew up in
Park Ridge; he graduated from St. George High School in
Evanston and received a bachelor's degree from the Marquette
University College of Journalism in Milwaukee, with additional
studies at Northeastern University in Chicago; and
WHEREAS, Donald Andries worked for several years on trade
magazines and community newspapers, including a period as
sports editor of the Deerfield Review; in 1973, he opened his
own public relations agency, serving several clients in the
educational, not-for-profit, hospitality, and retail fields;
and
WHEREAS, Donald Andries was the beloved husband of Dorothy
Delacoma Andries; the dear father of Daniel (Anne Northrup),
the late Donald Joseph (Mary), David (Paula), and Darrill
(Cheryl Mollicone); the grandfather of 10 grandchildren; the
son of Gabriel and Helen Andries; and the brother of Gabrielle
Andries and the late Denise Langan; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his
family and friends, mourn the passing of Donald Andries; and be
it further
RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
presented to the family of Donald Andries as an expression of
our sympathy.
