SENATE RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
learn of the death of Randy Starkey of Hettick, who passed away
on May 21, 2012; and
WHEREAS, Randy Starkey was born on July 12, 1960, in Alton;
his parents were Richard and Joyce (Bergman) Starkey; he
married Janna Sonneborn on February 28, 1986, in Hannibal,
Missouri; and
WHEREAS, Randy Starkey graduated from Carlinville High
School with the class of 1978; and
WHEREAS, Randy Starkey was the owner and operator of
Sonneborn Transportation in Hettick and was an integral part of
Sonneborn Brothers Trucking; and
WHEREAS, Randy Starkey enjoyed cooking and spent many
wonderful evenings enjoying his hobby with his family and
friends; he also enjoyed playing cards with his friends; and
WHEREAS, Randy Starkey was preceded in death by his father;
and
WHEREAS, Randy Starkey is survived by his loving spouse of

26 years, Janna; his daughter, Kelsey Starkey; his mother,
Joyce Starkey; his brothers, Rick Starkey (wife, Lori) and
Ramsey Starkey (wife, Nikki); his sister, Rachel Ellenbecker
(husband, Joey); his father and mother-in-law, Bill and Donna
Sonneborn; his sister-in-law, Tammy Dugan (husband, Ron); and
his many nieces and nephews; therefore, be it
RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL
ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
his family and friends, the passing of Randy Starkey; and be it
further
RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
presented to the family of Randy Starkey as an expression of
our sympathy.
